Resilient Creatures Counseling

Affirmative, Empowering, Compassionate Care

Brianna Boyd, LCPC, M.Ed

(She/her/hers)

I love working with gender diverse adolescents, queer and questioning folks, and young adults navigating life transitions. Despite the adversity they face, my clients strive to develop improved personal insight and coping skills that will allow them to feel more calm, capable, and connected.

I use an integrative, trauma-informed therapeutic approach that draws primarily from client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and EMDR therapeutic modalities. By centering trust in the therapeutic alliance, I hope to empower clients to develop an improved sense of security and more authentic, gratifying relationships in their lives.

Using a multicultural and intersectional framework, I support clients in recognizing the social and cultural contexts that influence their lived experiences. As a queer-identifying clinician, I understand the value of fostering an inclusive and affirmative space in order to help clients feel safe to openly explore their identities and learn to embrace their most authentic selves.

I founded Resilient Creatures Counseling PLLC in 2022 with the hope of creating a therapeutic environment which encouraged folks from all walks of life to honor their resilience.

I am passionate about working with young people and their families. I think that, whenever we work with youth, it is also important to include and care for their support systems and chosen families. I specialize in working with youth who are figuring out their identities (gender, sexual, or racial), who are processing the impacts of complex trauma, and who are beginning to explore what it means to live in the in between spaces of life. I welcome any clients and families who are seeking emotional connection, authenticity, and a social justice lens in their therapeutic experience.

I am ready to meet you and your family wherever you are in your journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery. Mixing a relational psychodynamic approach with art and play therapy, I work to co-create a space with clients that is affirmative, supportive, and safe.

As a multiracial and bilingual therapist, I think it is important to honor all of the stories we have heard about ourselves and that our families have carried with them from one generation to the next. I am excited to learn more about your story and help you navigate how difficult it can be when we feel stuck in these stories.

Client Testimonials

“She gives me the room to work through my issues at my pace while still challenging me when I need it. She provides alternate perspectives to my own, and she understands which tools do and don't work for me. She is incredibly adaptive, compassionate, and respectful… it is with Bri's support that I grew into myself, and continue to find ways to grow.”

“I've gained a better understanding of myself, my goals, and my close relationships.”

“The perfect amount of self-disclosure that makes me feel super comfortable has been awesome, and otherwise knowing I can vent about thirty unrelated things and Bri keeps me grounded while providing the space to talk through it all!”
